Alfred “Al” Inness Livingston, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2025, at his residence in Ashburn, Georgia. Born on September 19, 1945, in New York, New York,
Before moving to Ashburn, Al worked as a printer for Penn Press in Long Island, New York. Al spent over thirty years of his life contributing to the community he loved in Ashburn. He had a distinguished career as a Chaplain and counselor at several Georgis State Prisons, as well as serving as a drug and alcohol counselor. He approached his work with compassion and dedication. His experience and education, including a Master's degree in psychology and training in mental health counseling and drug and alcohol treatment, equipped him to make a significant impact in the lives of many.
Beyond his professional life, Al found joy in simple pleasures. He loved deer hunting and took great pride in maintaining a beautiful yard, where he could often be found cutting the grass and ensuring everything was in order. A history enthusiast, he had a particular interest in Civil War history, which reflected his curious and engaging personality.
Al was not only a loving husband to his wife, Doloris Diane Andrews Livingston of thirty-seven years, but he also embraced the role of a caring father within their blended family. He was a proud father to his children: Teresa and Vernon Tilton, Diane O'Toole, Jamie and Cyndi Livingston, Sr., and Christopher and April O'Toole. His legacy continues through his numerous grandchildren, who cherished their time with him, and to whom he was a doting great grandfather and great great grandfather.
He is survived by his beloved wife and children, along with his two brothers, Lee Livingston and Carl Sanger. Al was preceded in death by his father, William Livingston; his mother, Francis Turner Livingston Sanger; and his grandchildren, Gage O'Toole and Alexis Livingston. Those who knew Al will remember him for his unwavering commitment to family and community, deeply rooted faith as a member of Christian Union Church of God, and the love he spread throughout his life.
A visitation will be held in his honor on Sunday, June 1, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Albritton Funeral Directors. A funeral service will be held Monday, June 2, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Albritton Funeral Directors with Rev. Lance Taylor officiating. Eulogies will be given by Jamie Livingston and Michelle Delgado. Interment will follow at Andersonville National Cemetery.
