Angela Cheryl Tyson

Angela Cheryl Tyson, affectionately known as Angie, was born on September 29, 1947, in Ocilla, Georgia.She was the daughter of Doris Hilton Toups. She passed away peacefully on January 22, 2026, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia, leaving behind a legacy marked by her compassionate nature and dedication to her family.

The family invites you to honor Angela’s memory during the visitation service on Sunday, February 1, 2026, from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM, followed by a memorial service at 5:00 PM.with Rev. Joe Wingo officiating.  Both services will be held at Albritton Funeral Directors, located at 1020 Tift Ave N., Tifton, GA 31794.

A proud graduate of Irwin County High School in 1965, Angela furthered her education with a post-graduate program in nursing. Throughout her professional life, she worked as a medical assistant for Dr. Morris Davis, where she brought her nurturing spirit and devotion to patient care to every interaction.

Angela was known for her conservative values and her creative flair as a "coupon queen," embodying a thrifty approach to life. An avid reader, she was also deeply passionate about politics and took pride in her identity as a Republican. Her family was her pride and joy; she cherished her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren immensely. Angela was also a devoted animal lover, finding comfort and joy in the company of her cat, Tootsie.

She will be remembered not just for her kindness towards her caregivers, nursing and medical staff but also for her ability to see the good in everyone. Angela had a kind soul and fostered loving relationships throughout her life.

Angela is survived by her beloved  husband,of twenty nine years, William E. Tyson aka Billy, her children, Pamela Arnold and her husband Tim, Sandra Trent and her husband Dale, and Terry Spells and his wife Sharon. She was a proud grandmother to Samantha Walker, Kevin Robertson and his wife Kaelie, Annalee Thompson and her husband Ben, Jack Spells, Wesley Spells, her great grandchildren, Penelope Walker, Conway Walker, Elias Robertson, Lucy Thompson, Winifred Thompson and Christopher Thompson, as well as step-grandchildren Katie Tyson, and Ethan Tyson.

Angela was preceded in death by her sisters, Connie Oxford, Donna Pearson, and half Debbie Toups; two half brothers, Dane Toups and Mark Toups; her stepfather, Neotis Toups; her mother, Doris Hilton Toups and step son, Marshall Chael Tyson

Angela Cheryl Tyson’s life was a tapestry of love, kindness, and dedication. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
