Barbara Ann (Weeks) Rich

November 15, 1942 — May 24, 2016

Barbara Ann Rich, 73, of Tifton died Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 27, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with  Dr. Danny Ray officiating.  Interment will follow at Tift Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 26, 2016, 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Jason Rich, Ritchie Rich, Blake Rich, Caleb Rich, Hunter Hall, and Miguel Rich will serve as pallbearers.  Austin Rich, Rodney Rich, Jr., Dallas Rich, Elliot Rich, Ethan Rich and Josiah Rich will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Mrs. Rich was born November 15, 1942, in Kosciusko, Mississippi to the late Luther Earl and Annie Mae Tyler Weeks Dempsey.

Mrs. Rich was married to James Lewis Rich for fifty seven years, forty of those years they lived in Tift County.  She was a Cosmetologist for many years and later worked for Walmart. She loved sewing, crafting, shopping and cooking. Mrs. Rich was a huge fan of Elvis. She loved and enjoyed her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rich was preceded in death by her step parents, Jack Dempsey and Ruth Weeks, and her grandmother Winnie Pearl Weeks.

Mrs. Weeks is survived by her husband, James Lewis Rich; one daughter and son-in-law, Veronica and Bob Robinson of Enigma; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Ronnie Rich of Brookfield, Rodney and Anna Rich of Brookfield, and Barry and Jamie Rich of Troy, Ala.; three sisters, Rose Heath of Enigma, Jean and Sam Bailey of Valdosta, and Lettie Sue Weeks of Seattle Washington; one brother, David Earl Weeks of Athens, Ohio, several nieces and nephews; seventeen grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren.
