Bessie McKinney

Bessie McKinney,73, born on December 3, 1952, in Lumbar City, Georgia, passed away on February 4, 2026, at the Rehabilitation Center of South Georgia in Tifton, Georgia. She was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, who touched the lives of many with her warmth and her radiant smile.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Mr. Wes Shannon officiating. Private interment will follow at Oakridge Cemetery.

Bessie was the cherished daughter of the late George McKinney and Sarah Riley McKinney. She was preceded in death by her three siblings: Albert McKinney, George McKinney, and Larry McKinney. Despite the loss of her immediate family, Bessie remained a beacon of positivity and joy to those around her.

She found immense joy in spending quality time with her family. Bessie had a remarkable ability to connect with people; she never met a stranger and was known for her endearing nature. Her beloved baby doll, Angel, was a testament to her nurturing spirit, and she carried that love and affection into her relationships with family and friends.

Bessie's educational journey concluded with her graduation from high school, after which she went on to live a life full of warmth, love, and laughter. Her legacy is one of kindness, and she will be remembered dearly by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She was survived by her sister, Pearline McKinney of New York. In addition to them, she leaves behind several nephews and nieces, along with extended family members who will carry her memory forward.

Bessie McKinney's laughter and kindness will echo in the hearts of many, and her spirit will continue to inspire those she leaves behind. She lived a life adorned with love, leaving a cherished legacy that will not be forgotten.
