Betty Ruth Taylor Flancher, 83, a wonderful wife, mother, sister, Nanny and cherished friend to many, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 2, 2025, at her residence in Tifton, Georgia. Born on December 7, 1941 on The Pearl Harbor Day, Betty lived a life filled with love, warmth, and unwavering support for her family.
The funeral service will be held on August 5,2025, Tuesday morning at 10:00 A.M. at the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Mr. Murray Hand officiating and LeAnne Rowland delivering the eulogy. The interment will follow the service at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on August 4, 2025, Monday evening from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Russ Wood, TJ Luke, Tyler Luke, Waylon Flancher, Brady Rowland and Jimmy Sumner will serve as the pallbearers.
For sixty-seven wonderful years, she shared a loving marriage with her husband, Jack Flancher. She created a home filled with kindness and laughter for her four children. Betty was a devoted stay-at-home mother who dedicated herself to raising her four children.
Betty's nurturing nature extended beyond her role as a mother. She was known for her culinary talents, preparing three meals everyday with love and care. She enjoyed canning and preserving fruits vegetables too. Her home was always a place where family gathered, and she made it a point to ensure everyone felt welcome and cherished. A significant aspect of her personality was her ability to see the good in everyone, never speaking an unkind word about others. Betty’s endless support and encouragement profoundly impacted her family, who always felt fortified by her belief in them. As a way to preserve memories, Mrs. Betty kept a journal of her and her family's life together.
She inherited a green thumb from her father, the late Lester Taylor, which manifested in her beautiful flowers that were a source of pride and joy. She loved keeping her yards clean and beautiful with her plants. Nature, much like her family, was something she nurtured with her whole heart.
Mrs. Betty is survived by her loving family, including her husband Jack, daughters Kathy Luke and Pam Wood, and son Charles Gogie Flancher along with his wife Vickie, and daughter in - law Irene Flancher, her grandchildren, T. J. and Jennifer Luke, Tyler and Brittany Luke, LeAnne Rowland, Kayla and Sean Adair, Kelly Flancher and Mike Pruitt, Casey and John Kearns, Denise Lyle, Russ Wood and Brittany Fielding, Waylon Flancher, and Erica Flancher and Brad Sutton, along with her great grandchildren, Brady Rowland, Bailee Luke, Lottie Luke, John Wood, Michael Wood, Charlie Wood, Raylee Sutton, Austin Ashburn, Preston Flancher, Hunter Kearns, Hudson Kearns, Emma Lyle, Lana Godwin and Riley Lyle, and her sister Fay Harrison.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester Taylor, and Ruby Fender Taylor, her sisters Oleta Taylor and infant, Loretta Taylor, her brother Bill Taylor and her son Jack Brian Flancher, Jr., “Brian." who died on July 24, 2024.
As we reflect on Betty’s life, we remember a woman who exemplified love, kindness, and resilience. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her spirit continues to thrive in the hearts of her family and friends, a true treasure whose light will never dim.
