Mrs. Betty Jean Goff Jones,79, of Chula, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2020 at Legacy Village of Tifton.
A private graveside service will be held Monday, May 25, 2020 in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Aaron Frasier and Rev. Larry Layfield officiating.
Pallbearers will be Kody Jones, Conner Smith, Cole Smith, Wayne Griffin, Keith Jones and Kevin Owens.
Mrs. Jones was born November 28, 1940 in Tift County to the late Milton Goff and Aline Thomas Goff. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Carlene Gill and Virginia “Bootsie” Griffin, two brothers, Jim “Buddy” Goff and J. D. Goff. Mrs. Jones was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and was a 1958 graduate of Tifton High School. She was a homemaker and had lived in Tift County most of her life. She and her husband owned and operated Jones Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep dealership beginning in 1969. Miss Betty loved flowers, reading, shopping and animals. She loved the Lord and was active in her church. Her family was the center of her life and she especially loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She supported her children in all their activities. Miss Betty enjoyed traveling especially to their mountain home in Blairsville.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her husband, Donald Lee Jones of Chula, to whom she was married for sixty years; two daughters and son-in-law, Gretchen Bowen of Tifton and Kip and Bart Smith of Chula; one son and daughter-in-law, Kirby and Jane Jones of Chula; six grandchildren, Kody Jones, Kassi Rhodes, JaneAnn and Kevin Owens, Conner Smith, Cole Smith and Sammi Bowen; three great grandchildren, Andon Rhodes, Cason Rhodes and Asher Owens; one sister and brother-in-law, Mary Nell and Robert Pope of Macon.
