Betty Patrick

Mrs. Betty Johnson Patrick, 84, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2019, at Navicent Health Center in Macon.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, May 16th, at Ridge Ave Church of Christ with Harold Chambers and Larry Stewart officiating.  Burial with a graveside service will be held Saturday, May 18th, at 11:00 A.M. in Vandyke Grove Cemetery in Paris, TN.  The family will receive friends before the service at Ridge Ave Church of Christ from 12:30 P.M. – 1:30 P.M. on Thursday.

John Paulk, Clint Guess, Patrick Britt, Garrison Britt, Roy Willis, Tim Warren, David Tanner and Bill Wiseman will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Patrick was born October 25, 1934, in Paris TN to the late Ewing Johnson and Ethel Burnett Johnson.  Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister Norma Taylor. She graduated from Grove High School and continued to be a University of Tennessee girls basketball fan after moving to Georgia.     In her early years she worked as a telephone operator, but her favorite role was as a homemaker.   She also loved to play the piano, accordion, and guitar. She was an avid bridge player and taught the game for many years.  Much of her life was centered around her church, Ridge Ave Church of Christ, where she taught toddlers Sunday School for many years and was affectionally known by the children as Bebe.

Survivors include her husband of fifty-four years, Robert O’Neal Patrick of Tifton, her daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Darron Britt of Athens and her son Randall Patrick of Nashville, TN, two grandsons Patrick Britt and Garrison Britt, and brother Jimmie Johnson of Paris, TN.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Raintree Village Children’s Home 3757 Johnston Road, Valdosta, Ga. 31601.
