Beverly Ann will be remembered as a woman of deep faith, steady devotion, and wholehearted love for the life she was given. A graduate of Ben Hill Irwin Technical School, she worked for many years as a seamstress in different industries, bringing care and dedication to her work. She also loved farm life and embraced it fully, tending to cows, chickens, and ducks and enjoying every minute of it.
She was a devoted supporter of Girl Scouts for twenty-eight years and became warmly known to many as “The Cookie Lady” because she always sold Girl Scout Cookies. That cheerful title reflected the generous spirit so many knew and loved. Beverly carried through life a simple but powerful motto: that whether she lived or died, she was a winner either way. It was a reflection of the faith and confidence that shaped her days.
Most of all, Beverly Ann cherished her family. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Coats, her sisters, Helen Greene and Wanda Futch, and her sister-in-law, Mary Brown. Her love continues through her granddaughters, Lauren Schmidt and her husband Kurtis, and Callie Shepard and her husband Kevin. She was also blessed with five great-grandchildren, Samantha Shepard, Hannah Shepard, Caleb Shepard, Olivia Shepard, and Eli Schmidt, each of whom was part of the legacy of love she leaves behind.
She was preceded in death by her three husbands James Morris, Wayne Arrington and Roy Covington; her father, Tommie Akins Reeves, Sr.; her mother, Blanche Elizabeth Hunnicutt Reeves; her brothers, Richard Lake Reeves, Walter George Reeves, and Tommie Akins Reeves, Jr.; and her son-in-law, Warren Coats.
Beverly Ann Reeves Covington leaves behind the memory of a life marked by work, faith, family, and simple joys well loved. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
