Billy Downs

William “Billy” Kelvin Downs, 59, passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors. The family will hold a memorial service on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 4:00 P.M. at Northside Baptist Church in Tifton, GA.

Born October 25, 1963, in Ashburn, GA to the late William Ernest Downs, Sr. and Betty Joyce Burch Downs. He is also preceded in death by one brother and one sister, Bridget Melissa Will.

Mr. Downs was self-employed and owner of Billy Downs Construction. He loved riding his motorcycles and participating in the shooting pool league. He was described as tenacious, very independent, and had a strong personality. Above all he loved his children and family.

Mr. Downs is survived by five children, Kayla King of Tifton, GA, Charlene King of Sanderson, FL, Mahaya Leigh Powers of North Carolina, Johnny Powers and Tavisana Sure Powers of Folkston, GA, three sisters, Susan German of Tifton, GA, Sheila Diane Downs of Augusta, GA, and Melody Lorraine Downs of Cordele, GA’ and six grandchildren, Jada Gutierrez, Aden Rogers, Caden Rogers, Harley Morgan, Rosalie Morgan, and Eva Gutierrez.
