He was a graduate of Norman Park High School and continued his education at ABAC, laying the groundwork for a lifelong pursuit of learning and growth. Billy's passion for life was evident in the many interests he cherished. He had a love for cigars, enjoyed the thrill of football, and maintained a connection to his agricultural roots through farming. An outgoing and friendly individual, Billy found joy in engaging with others and sharing his enthusiasm for the world around him. His evenings were often spent watching the news, staying informed about the events shaping his community and beyond.

Throughout his life, Billy was surrounded by a loving family. He is survived by his children, Love Hardy Kimbrough; his adopted daughter, Janet Thomas; and his adopted sons, Craig Robinson and Travis Carradine. He was a proud grandfather to Tiarra Kimbrough and a delighted great-grandfather to Ty'Arra Kimbrough. The deep bonds with his family brought him immense joy and pride.

He also cherished the memories created by Charles Amos Hardy and Jessie Teddar Hardy who welcomed him into their home and raised him alongside their sons, Glen, Raiford, Carl, Richard, C.A., and Charles Neal Hardy—sharing experiences that formed the foundation of lasting friendships.

Billy is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ora Mae Phillips Kimbrough, and his mother, Belle Kimbrough. His legacy of warmth, friendliness, and dedication to family will be forever remembered by those who knew and loved him. He leaves behind a profound impact that will resonate through the lives of his family and community for generations to come.
