Bobby Lee Johnson, aka “Bebo” by family, a lifelong resident of Tift County, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his home in Tifton, Georgia, on Thursday, May 7, 2026. Born on February 21, 1962, Bobby devoted much of his life to his career as a truck driver for the Tift County Road Department, where he was known for his dedication and hard work.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. at 121 Duane Drive, Fitzgerald, Georgia 31750.

Bobby’s life was marked not only by his professional contributions but also by the simple joys and passions he cherished. He found great pleasure in fishing, exploring flea markets, yard sales, and auctions, and had a particular fondness for dirt racing. He was also skilled in working on lawn mowers, an activity that brought him satisfaction and a sense of accomplishment. Those who knew Bobby often recall his warm sense of humor; he loved playing jokes and teasing his children and grandchildren, always bringing laughter into their lives. In his quieter moments, he enjoyed watching funny videos, which added lightheartedness to his days.

Bobby was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Cynthia Davis Smith Johnson, to whom he was married for thirty-four years until her passing on May 18, 2020. He was also predeceased by his father, Douglas Johnson; his mother, Faye Mobley Johnson Vick; and his brothers, Charlie Johnson and John Johnson.

He is survived by his devoted family: five daughters, Melissa Roberson, Danette and John Diakogiannis, Michelle Smith, Becky and Alex Baker, and Bobbie Johnson; his son, Brannon Brown, his eleven grandchildren, Ren Rich, Danny Musgrove, Lane Roberson, Kahli Roberson, Dean Diakogiannis, Austin Diakogiannis, Chad Diakogiannis, Alice Sensenbrenner, Emma Swanson, Anabelle Stone and Emily Stone; and twenty-six great-grandchildren. He was a father, grandfather and great grandfather by action and choice. The deep bonds Bobby shared with his family were a source of immense pride and joy throughout his life.

Bobby Lee Johnson’s legacy is one of humility, humor, and heartfelt dedication to his loved ones. His presence will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, yet his memory will continue to bring comfort and inspiration to his family and friends in the years to come.
