Bobby Neil Usry

Tifton – Mr. Bobby Neil Usry, Sr., 79 of Tifton passed away at his residence on Saturday, August 27, 2016.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Rev. Steve Johnson, Rev. Bill Harrell and Dr. Fred Evers officiating.  Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Americus, at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday.  The Usry family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Gary Hall, Johnny Crawford, Frank Bodiford, Stewart Adams, Chad Waldron, John Kennedy, Art McClellan, Bill Moyer, Herb Shippey, Michael Rooks and Larry Parsons will serve as pallbearers.  The Johnny Crawford class of Northside Baptist Church and the former employees of Bell South will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Mr. Usry was born, May 19, 1937 in Lee County to Dixon Usry and Gladys Junk Usry, both deceased.

Mr. Usry was retired after many years from Bell South and following his retirement was an External Public Relations Manager for Plant Telecommunications.  As a very active member of Northside Baptist Church he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher and choir member for many years.  He loved his Lord and his family.  His greatest desire was for his family to love Jesus and to be cared for.  He was a great husband, daddy and papa.  He loved his dogs Abby, Pixie, Molly and Charlie.

After retirement from Plant Telecommunications he was an honored staff member at Albritton Funeral Directors. He loved reading his Bible, woodworking, playing golf, playing the guitar and singing. He served his country honorably in the United States Army.

Survivors are his wife of fifty-nine years, Lee Collum Usry, son and daughter-in-law Bobby N. “Robby”, Jr. and Debbe Usry and daughter Kim Usry Royal all of Tifton, his grandchildren; Meagan and Jacob Mayne, Matthew Royal and Michael Royal, one brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Thelma Usry, Americus, and one sister and brother-in-law, Gladys and J. W. Hudson of Niceville, FL.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the building fund of Northside Baptist Church 4605 Murray Ave., Tifton, Ga. 31794.
