Brandy will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, daughter, teacher, and friend whose life was deeply rooted in love for her family and in care for the students whose lives she touched. She loved camping and treasured making memories with her family, especially at the beach and in the mountains. Those times together reflected what mattered most to her: being close to the people she loved and creating moments that would be cherished for years to come.
Brandy was a graduate of Tift County High School and Valdosta State University with a Bachelor’s degree. She worked for Tift County Board of Education as a teacher at Len Lastinger and Matt Wilson for twenty-nine years. Teaching was Brandy’s passion. She loved each and every one of her students and took great pride in their accomplishments. She cared deeply for her co-workers and devoted countless hours to finding projects and opportunities that would take learning to new levels for her students. Her commitment to education was not simply a profession, but a calling, and she gave herself to it with heart, energy, and genuine love.
Above all else, Brandy considered her three children to be her greatest accomplishments. Dylan, Dalton, and Kate Marie were her pride and joy, and her love for them was central to her life. Her family was the foundation of her happiness, and she took special joy in the life she shared with them.
She is survived by her husband, Timothy Everett “Tim” Hobbs; her sons, Dylan Hobbs and Dalton Hobbs; her daughter, Kate Marie Hobbs; her mother, Donnis Hyde; her sister, Kandy Paulk and her husband, Tommy; her father-in-law, Garry E. Hobbs; and her sister-in-law, Heather Hobbs Chambless and her husband, Clint. She also leaves behind many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, David James Tawzer, her step-dad, Gary Dean Hyde, her grandparents, James W. and Flavel Holloway Tawzer and Lea Eugene and Iris Williams and her mother-in-law, Willene Watson Hobbs.
Brandy’s memory will live on in the hearts of her family, her students, her co-workers, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be remembered with love, gratitude, and lasting affection.
