Carlene Mercer Walker

Mrs. Carlene Mercer Walker, 88, of Tifton passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Rev. Steve Davis officiating. Mr. Cal Carpenter will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow at Oakridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at the funeral home.

Greg Nimmo, Randy Luke, Marty Griffis, Stan Carpenter, Fred Carpenter and Clinton Carpenter will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Walker was born November 28, 1934 in Atkinson County to the late Avon Mercer and Rachel Mercer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Clifford Howard Walker who died December 20, 2012, her daughter, Patricia Anne Walker Boyd who died March 20, 2016, her brother, Ben Mercer and her sisters, Kathleen Griffis, Christine Rawles and Pauline Avery.

Mrs. Walker was a member of Brookfield Baptist Church and a graduate of Atkinson County high School. She loved the Lord, serving him faithfully and reading her bible. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and helping her husband restore old military jeeps. Mrs. Walker especially loved her family with all her heart.

Mrs. Walker is survived by her daughter, Julie Lynn Walker of Tifton and her grandchild, Rachel Anne Boyd.
