Mrs. Carolyn Ruth Webb Willett, 88 of Moultrie died Saturday. June 5, 2021 at Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday. June 9, 2021 in Oakridge Cemetery with Rev. Dewey Stalvey officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening at Albritton Funeral Directors from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.
Mrs. Willett was born August 17, 1932 in Berrien County to the late Mallie B. Webb and Eliza Jane Jones Webb. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Derwood L. Willett who died August 3, 2005, four brothers, Lemon Webb, Neil Webb, Bob Webb and Marcus Webb.
Mrs. Willett spent her early life in Tift County in the Omega area. She was very proud of her career in nursing and was a graduate of the Georgia School of Nursing. Following her graduation, she moved to Connecticut where she met her husband Derwood and started her family. Upon the retirement of her husband, they moved back to South Georgia. Her family was very important to her and she loved the times they could be together. She was an excellent cook and an avid gardener. Miss Ruth and her husband worked hard for years restoring an old farm house to its former glory with fifteen acres of gardens and grounds.
She is survived by four sons and a daughter-in-law, Marcus Willett of New Britain, CT, Edward Willett of Jacksonville, FL, Matthew Willett of Moultrie and Aaron and Christine Willett of Wadsworth, OH, four grandchildren, Ethan, Jordan, John and Mackenzie, her brother and sister-in-law, Hugh and Katherine Webb of Tifton and her sister-in-law Joyce Webb of Tifton
