Charles Lavon Lovett

Ty Ty - Mr. Charles Lavon Lovett, 77, of Ty Ty died Sunday, March 11, 2018 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 13 at Albritton Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. Christopher House officiating.  A private burial will be held at Leila Methodist Church Cemetery at a later date.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M., Monday. March 12, at Albritton Funeral Directors.

Pallbearers will be his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mr. Lovett was born October 4, 1940, to the late Carl Tyson Lovett and Mary Gladys Sumner Lovett.  Along with his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Hubert Lovett and Riley Lovett and one sister Helen Sumner.

Mr. Lovett lived in Tift county most of his life, graduating from Omega High School and a member of Omega Methodist Church.  He was employed for many years at J. P. Stevens and later retired as a service manager at several area auto dealers.  He loved his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He enjoyed collecting antique clocks and woodworking. His two dogs Hydi and Sadie were very special to him.

Survivors include his wife of fifty six years, Betty Robinson Lovett of Ty Ty, daughters and son-in-law Lisa and Ricky Sellars, Stephanie Walker and Leah Calhoun all of Tifton,  grandchildren, Jamie and Jeniffer Sellars, Lauren and Andrew Grimes, Austin Walker and Ian Calhoun, great grandchildren, Cameron Sellars, Drew Grimes, Will Grimes, Mallory Jane Grimes and Brooks Grimes, brother and sister-in-law, Harry and Gloria  Lovett of Melbourne, FL and sisters Sue Ann Bryant and Bonnie Chestnut both of Tifton and several nieces and nephews.
