Clark Dickens

October 28, 1938 — October 27, 2022

Mr. Charles Clark Dickens, 83, of Tifton, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at Tift Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at Omega United Methodist Church with Rev. Chip Grantham and Rev. Chris House officiating. His son-in-law, Bill Reinhardt, will deliver the eulogy. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 A.M. at the church before the service. A private family burial will be held at Omega City Cemetery.

Mr. Dickens was born October 28, 1938 in Omega to the late Charles C. Dickens and Dorothy Hamner Dickens. Mr. Dickens was a member of Omega United Methodist Church and formerly attended the First United Methodist Church of Tifton. He was with the United States Army Reserve and a graduate of the Georgia Banking School at UGA. Mr. Dickens was a banker for over forty-five years until his retirement as City President of Wachovia in Eustis, Florida. He was a long-term resident of Eustis, Florida after leaving Tifton in 1983. During his banking career, he was involved in many civic clubs, United Way, Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, Elks Lodge and Springhill Country Club. Clark was fiercely proud of his girls and grandchildren. He was very social, loyal to his friends and customers, and he was a master griller of steaks. Clark was well known and respected in the banking industry.  During his years in Florida, he loved lake life and the beach. He remained a UGA football and Atlanta Braves fan to the end and he would have been sadly disappointed that he missed the Georgia-Florida game and the Georgia-Tennessee game.

Mr. Dickens is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Bill Reinhardt and Michelle and Russ Shaw of Tifton; his grandchildren, Ashley Shaw, Will and Allison Reinhardt, Charlie Reinhardt, Georgia Reinhardt, and Spencer Shaw; his great granddaughter, Millie Reinhardt, and his special friend, Bea Miller of Eustis, Florida.
