Mrs. Danielle Membrives Jernigan, 76, of Enigma passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2020 at her residence.
Due to the national emergency, a private graveside service will be held Monday, April 13th in Brushy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Irwin County with Rev. Salone Green officiating.
Mrs. Jernigan was born July 18, 1943 in Oran, Algeria to the late Antoine Membrives and Marie Ruiz Membrives. Mrs. Jernigan was a member of Carpenter Road Church of God. She was a Translator for Irwin County Hospital and also worked in medical records and insurance billing. She came to America in 1956 when she was thirteen with her mother and brother. She fluently spoke English, Spanish and French. Mrs. Jernigan was an amazing cook, loved to sew, knit, crochet and fish. She loved her children and grandchildren. She loved the beach, collecting shells and animals. Mrs. Jernigan was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the VFW in Nashville and was a Trustee with Woodmen Life Chapter 144.
Mrs. Jernigan is survived by her husband, Leyman Howard Jernigan of Enigma, to whom she was married for fifty-six years; two daughters and son-in-law, Lisa Jernigan of Tifton and Robin and Scott Phillips of Enigma; one son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Karen Jernigan of Hemingway, South Carolina; her grandchildren, Garrett Phillips, Nicole Phillips, Connor Jernigan, Carson Jernigan and Cooper Jernigan; one brother and sister-in-law, Jean Pierre and Beverly Membrives of Miami, Florida.
