David Wayne Blackstock

Dr. David Wayne Blackstock, 69, passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2024.  He was born in Tifton, GA on October 15, 1954 to the late Sue Hutchinson Blackstock and Joe N. Blackstock. 

A graveside memorial service will be held at Zion Hope Baptist Church Cemetery on Tuesday March 19, 2024 at 11:00 A.M.  A private family service will also be held in Blairsville, GA at a later date.

Dr. Blackstock was a graduate of the University of Georgia and Southern College of Optometry.  Dr. Blackstock was a dedicated Optometrist to his many patients.  Helping his patients brought him much joy. He also enjoyed spending time in his family mountain home, his dog, Duke, wine, dancing, Georgia football and his family. 

Dr. David Blackstock is survived by his brother, Joe N. Blackstock, Jr of Augusta, GA, his daughter Riali Blackstock Lyons of Atlanta, GA, his sons Barrett David Blackstock of Greenville, SC and Brett David Blackstock of Erwin, TN, his grandchildren McLean Lyons, Duncan Lyons, Natalie Blackstock, Forrest Blackstock, Britton Blackstock, Wiley Blackstock, along with numerous cousins.
