Dewey Eldridge Beasley

October 18, 1930 — June 30, 2018

Ty Ty - Reverend Dewey Eldridge Beasley, 87 of Ty Ty died Saturday, June 30, 2018 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church of Ty Ty with Rev. Rodney Owens officiating. Interment will follow in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Albritton Funeral Directors.

Justin Beasley, Sean Collins, Ray Beasley, Chris Burdette, Steven Meeks and Tim Meeks will serve as pallbearers.

Rev. Beasley was born on October 18, 1930 to the late Dewey Roscoe Beasley and Emma Clara Nolin Beasley in Dale County AL.  He was also preceded in death by his son Eugene Beasley who died in 1982 and his brother Donald Preston Beasley.   He was married to Cleo Burdette Beasley for sixty-eight years. He had lived in Tift County since 1979 and in addition to being retired from the Tift County Board of Education as a Jr. High School teacher, he was also a Baptist minister for fifty-eight years serving several churches in Alabama, Georgia, Florida and Mississippi.  He loved his Lord and his family dearly.  He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, hunting, fishing, traveling and camping.  He graduated from New Orleans Baptist Seminary with a Bachelor's degree and from Valdosta State University with a Master's degree in education.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Beasley is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Keith and Patti Beasley of Ty Ty; three grandchildren Justin and Courtney Beasley, Lynsey Beasley, and Sean Collins and his three great grandchildren; Kiley Richey, Rebecca Beasley and Lydia Beasley along with many nieces and nephews.
