Divinagracia Bacasmas Perla, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on January 22, 2024, at Atrium Navicent Health in Macon, Georgia. She was born on February 17, 1953, in Talisay Cebu, Philippines.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Our Divine Saviour Catholic Church of Tifton with Father Paulinus Okpala officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 9:45 A.M. on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Albritton Funeral Directors.
Divinagracia was a woman of immense faith and spirituality. She dedicated her time to prayer and was an active member of Our Divine Saviour Catholic Church in Tifton. Devoted to her Catholic faith, she found solace and strength in her relationship with God. Divinagracia's unwavering devotion to her religion shaped her life and filled her with compassion for others.
Known for her love of nature and physical activity, Divinagracia enjoyed going on long walks in the morning and afternoon. These walks allowed her to immerse herself in the beauty of the world around her while also providing a sense of serenity and peace. She found joy in connecting with nature and the simple pleasures of everyday life.
In addition to her spiritual pursuits and appreciation for nature, Divinagracia had a creative side. Crocheting and dressmaking were among her favorite hobbies. She took great pride in creating intricate pieces with precision and care. Her creations were not only beautiful but also filled with love. She also took great pride in cooking her favorite homeland foods rice and Paksiw Na Pompano
Away from her craft table, Divinagracia delighted in watching Filipino TV shows that brought stories and cultures from her homeland closer to her heart. Traveling was another passion of hers as it allowed her to explore new places and experience different cultures firsthand. These adventures enriched her life and broadened her horizons.
Divinagracia will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a rich legacy of love and family that will continue to inspire future generations.
She is survived by her children: Therisa Perla Odtojan, Angelica Perla Smith, Jeanette Perla Pablico, Janyl Perla Ebus, Mark Anthony Perla, and John Mark Arvin Perla. Her stepchildren: Annabelle Leparto Perla, Lino Perla, JoJo Perla, Roberto Perla, Gilo Perla, and Alberto Perla. Divinagracia was a doting grandmother to her grandchildren: : Maikyla, Daniel, John Lebron, Mark Andrew, John Dywne Anthony, George, Jude, John Dave, James Benedith, Scoth John, John Iverson, John Vincent Irish, John Lorenzon, John Karl Peter, Anjanyl, Juriz, Janiella, Christine, Divine Rose, and Maria Anjayl Shane. Her great-grandchildren - Athena, Jerimiah Olivia, John Irish Kylie and Kyrie - brought immense joy and laughter to her life.
Divinagracia also leaves behind fond memories with her surviving siblings: Bernadette, Heriza, Karl and Larry.
She is preceded in death by her beloved father Nestor Rivera Bacasmas; her mother Cicilia Alcantara Bacasmas; and her loving husband Arsenio Liparto Perla.
Divinagracia's kindness, strength of character, and unwavering faith will forever remain in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her. Her legacy of love will continue to inspire and guide her family and friends in the years to come. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
