Dora "Cotton" (Johnson) Gartman

Mrs. Dora “Cotton” Johnson Gartman, 93, of Tifton passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at her residence, surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 10, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Rev. Randy Hand officiating. Interment will follow in Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 A.M. at the funeral home before the service.

Mrs. Gartman was born July 31, 1928 in Robertsdale, Alabama to the late Samuel Johnson and Evy Dean Waters Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-seven years, Robert Ervin Gartman who died November 11, 2011, her two sisters and one brother.

Mrs. Gartman was a homemaker and business owner.  An avid quilter, she also enjoyed crafting, traveling, spending time with friends and doing anything with her family. She was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church, a charter member of the Old Friends Gang, and a longtime member of both the Red Hatters and THUGS.

Mrs. Gartman is survived by three daughters and son in laws: Jan and Thad Paulk, Joy and Ken Hooper, and Jo Garrick , all of Tifton; one son and daughter in law, Robert “Bucky” and Dodie Gartman of Tifton; one daughter at heart, Janice Sizemore of Webster FL; her grandchildren Taylor and Ronnie Martinez, Joel and Kimberly Paulk, Tiffany Santana, Robert Jerry Hunt III, Ashli and Daniel Toole, Katelyn Ross, Ivy and Lyndsey Gartman, Justin Gartman, Wade & Tiana Gartman, Hope and Justin Gomez; her great grandchildren: Caroline Martinez, Tyler Santana, Demian Santana, Davis Ross, Daniel Gartman, Landon Gartman, Weston Gartman, Aylin Gartman and Lucas Gomez; numerous nieces and nephews and extended family Johnny Smith, Chris Chavous, Crystal Grubbs, Austin Grubbs, Aiden Grubbs, Tim Garrick, Tracy Homer,  Italo Santana, Kim Tyson, and Amber Goodman.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial gifts may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 71, Tifton GA  31793.
