Dorothy B. Phillips

April 19, 1933 — January 4, 2017

Dorothy B. Phillips, 83, of Ocilla, died Wednesday, January 04, 2017 at Tift Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, January 06, 2017 at Waterloo Baptist Church with Dr. Jeff Pangle officiating. Interment will follow at Harper Cemetery in Ambrose.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. on Thursday, January 05, 2017 at Albritton Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Phillips’ grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Phillips was born on April 19, 1933 in Berrien County to the late James Jasper Baldree and Jeanie Elizabeth Giddens Baldree.  Mrs. Phillips formerly lived in Fitzgerald, graduated from Irwin County High School in 1953 and later moved to the Waterloo community. She was married to Aubrey Lee Phillips who passed away in 1985.  Mrs. Phillips was a member of the Waterloo Baptist Church where she was active in the adult ladies Sunday school department.  She loved her Lord and her church, her family and especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Phillips also enjoyed cooking and bible study.

Mrs. Phillips is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda and Ronnie McCurdy of Waterloo and Barbara and Randy Bryan also of Waterloo; one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Brenda Phillips of Fitzgerald; her grandchildren, Lanier and Ivey McCurdy, Rebecca and Ven Pylant, Lee Bryan, Dawn and Josh Irvin, Kristi and Jessie Adkinson and Jeremy Rowell; her great grandchildren, Hulett McCurdy, Drew McCurdy, Lily Pylant, Lane Pylant, Aubrey Irvin, Kylee Bryan, McKenzlee Adkinson, and Jessie Adkinson, Jr.; one brother, Irven Baldree of Chula and one sister-in-law, Lucy Baldree.

In addition to her husband, Aubrey Phillips, Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by her great grandson, Brodie Adkinson, three sisters and seven brothers.
