Dorothy "Dean" Rudean (Fussell) Copeland

Mrs. Dorothy “Dean”  Rudean Fussell Copeland, 77, of Brookfield passed away on Friday, March 6, 2020, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Pastor Conway Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:00 to 1:45 P.M. at the funeral home before the service.

Jason Guess, Johnny White, Jerry Camp, Tim Jerry, Brennan Harris, Gary Dove and Walter Burgess will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Red Hat Club.

Mrs. Copeland was born November 14, 1942, in Ben Hill County, Georgia to the late Marvin Fussell and Lucy Griffin Fussell. She was a member of Believers Baptist Church. She was retired from Heatcraft and had worked with the Tifton Gazette for many years.  Mrs. Copeland had lived most of her life in Tift County. She and her husband enjoyed camping. Dean loved animals especially her two Dachshunds “Buddy” and “Junebug”. She also loved flowers.

Mrs. Copeland is survived by husband, Jackie Copeland of Brookfield, to whom she was married for twenty-seven years; her daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Bill Young of Rutledge, Lisa Harris of Marietta, Tina and Bill Griner of Alapaha and Natalie and Skip Malcolm of Warner Robins; her sons and daughters-in-law, Jay and Lisa Copeland of Illinois and Wes and Katrina Copeland of Smithville, Georgia; her sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Wayne Cook of Tifton; special family friend, Robert and Shannon Phelps of Brookfield. She is loved by her many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family wishes to thank Mrs. Copeland's special caretaker Kelly Thompson.
