Dorothy "Dot" (Turner) Jordan

Tifton- Mrs. Dorothy “Dot” Jordan, 85, of Tifton died Friday, July 21, 2017 at Tift Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, July 24, with Rev. Benjy Varnell and Rev. Robby Paulk officiating in the Chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors.  The family will receive friends before the service from 9:30-10:30 A.M. Interment will follow at Oakridge Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Lucas Jordan, Simmy McKeown, Jr., Reid Jordan, Will Jordan, Dan Heinz, and Bill McLean. Honorary Pallbearers  will be The Christian Covenant Sunday School class of First United Methodist Church, Tifton.

Mrs. Jordan was born September 11, 1931 in Colquitt County to the late Luther Turner and Frances Brabham Turner. She spent most of her life in Tift County where she faithfully attended First Methodist Church, Tifton. As an active member of her church, she was the treasurer of her Christian Covenant Sunday School class, volunteered with Meals on Wheels and was a member of Club 55. Many people will remember her as a Rural Mail Carrier, where she retired after twenty years of service.

Mrs. Jordan was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-two years, Edward Jordan who died January 2, 2011. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Turner.

Her survivors are her daughter and son-in-law Margaret and Simmy McKeown, Tifton, and two sons and daughters-in-law Jimmy and Deborah Jordan, Marietta, and Tommy and Caryn Jordan, Tifton, six grandchildren Amy and Chad Draper, Simmy, Jr and Brandy McKeown, Allison McKeown, Reid Jordan, Will Jordan, Lucas Jordan, four great grandchildren Julia and Spence McKeown, Eryn and Katy Draper along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 2053, Tifton, GA.

Albritton Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.
