Drusilla "Dru" Walker Andrus

Drusilla “Dru” Walker Andrus, 89, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 26, 2017 at 2:00pm in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Dr. Fred Evers and Rev. Craig Nalls officiating. Interment to follow at Harding Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, November 25th from 6:00 to 8:00pm at the funeral home.

Harold Ogletree, Billy Selph, Doc Cates and other family members will serve as pallbearers. Ms. Ann Hammonds Sunday School Class will serve as Honorary pallbearers.

Mrs. Andrus was born September 9, 1928 in Tift County, Ga., to the late Dink Walker and Annie Lou Hall Walker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl T. Andrus who died in 2007, four brothers and four sisters. Mrs. Andrus was a member of Northside Baptist Church for 58 years.

She was a member of the Tift Regional Medical Center Pink Ladies Auxiliary for many years, member of the Golden Age Club and a member of Club 55. She had lived in Tifton most of her life and graduated from Tifton High School, retired from Ga. Department of Transportation.  Mrs. Drusilla loved art, volunteering and traveling.

Mrs. Andrus is survived by two nephews, Tommy Manning of Alpharetta, Fred Walker of Newnan; four nieces, Mary George, Frankie and John Blessitt all of Dallas, Ga., Sandra Hibbs of Hiram, Mary Lou Mimbs of Brunswick, Elizabeth and Miles Gaines of Newnan and many grand nieces and nephews.

Flowers accepted or donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
