Edgar "Ed" C. White

Edgar “Ed” C. White, 83, of Tifton, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 11th at 11:00am in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Dr. Wayne Roe and Dr. Michael Kennedy officiating.  Interment will follow at Oakridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 10th from 6:00 to 8:00pm at the funeral home.

Billy Davis, Keith White, Jerry Sasnett, Lawrence Moore, Johnny Ray, Robert White and Tommie Moore will serve as pallbearers.   The I. D. Morgan Sunday School class will serve as Honorary pallbearers.

Mr. White was born on November 6, 1934 in Early County, Ga to the late Arthur White, Sr., and Maude Dykes White. He was married to Carolyn Fletcher White for 54 years and was member of First Baptist Church of Tifton. Mr. White retired from Civil Service with the Marine Corp Supply Center in 1989. Mr. White was a dedicated family man and loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren who he loved to tease. He kept one of the best yards in Tifton and enjoyed all kinds of fishing but especially in the Florida flats. Mr. White was an avid sports fan and loved both football and baseball. Mr. White also enjoyed traveling, especially his annual trips to Las Vegas with family.

In addition to his wife, Mr. White is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Mickey and Wendy Kennedy of Doerun; two daughters and son-in-law, Debbie and Anwar Qaqish of Canton, Vivian Pollock of Leesburg; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth White, Michael Kennedy, Zachary Kennedy, Michelle Barnes, Majda Qaqish, Alyshe Qaqish, Chris Patterson; five great grandchildren; three brothers and sister-in-law, Bill White of Albany, Franklin and Bobbie White of Shellman, Herbert White of Houston, Texas.

Mr. White was preceded in death by one son, Eddie Wendell White; three brothers and four sisters.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Tift Area, PO Box 747, Tifton, Ga., 31793. Albritton Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
