Ellen Eaton

Ellen Sprouse Eaton, 74 of Tifton, Georgia entered into Heaven on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at Cypress Pond Assisted Living Center.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Friday. June 26, 2026 in the Chapel of First Baptist Church of Tifton with Rev. T. J. Mauldin officiating and her daughter Leslie Sprouse Bloebaum delivering the eulogy. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:45 at the church before the service. The entombment service will follow at Tift Memorial Gardens.

John Thomas Tanner, Jackson Avera, James Tanner, Jesse McMurphy, Cameron Eaton and Kye Eaton will serve as pallbearers.

Born June 30, 1951 in Thomasville, Georgia to the late Leroy and Edith Reeves Jones. She graduated from Thomas County Central High School, then graduated ABAC followed by the University of Georgia with a Bachelor’s degree. She began her career as kindergarten teacher and then went on to head the Tifton – Tift County Clean Community Commission where she was a pioneer in bringing the recycling program to Tifton. From there she began her storied career at Tift Regional Hospital. It was there that she gave twenty-nine years of her life. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother (EL) to her family.

Mrs. Eaton is survived by her loving husband of thirty-five years, Tony Eaton of Tifton, her children, Leslie Bloebaum and husband Chris of Tifton and Darbie Raines and husband, John of Moultrie; her grandchildren, John Thomas Tanner (Hannah), James Tanner, Ellen Bloebaum, Jackson Avera, Bella Avera and Nora Avera, Lexi Eaton, McKinley Eaton, Sebastian Eaton, Emma Eaton, Anna Eaton and Audrey Eaton.
