Eloise (Purvis) Echols

Mrs. Eloise Purvis Echols, 91, of Tifton, passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at Rehabilitation Center of South Georgia.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, November 10, 2022 at Oakridge Cemetery with Rev. John Hughes officiating.

Mrs. Echols was born August 1, 1931 in Tift County to the late Gilbert Purvis and Lula Mixon Purvis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Franklin Echols, Sr and her grandson, Ross Echols. Mrs. Echols was a member of First Baptist Church of Tifton. She was an avid golfer, loved to read, enjoyed traveling and liked to play bridge. She was secretary of the Ladies Golf Association at Springhill Country club in Tifton. Mrs. Echols always cooked grits and eggs for her grandkids, and  enjoyed her visits from family and friends

Mrs. Echols is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Jennifer Echols of Lenox; her grandsons, Greer and Cassey Echols of Lenox and Jacob Echols of Tallahassee; her great grandchildren, Cayden Echols, Hadley Echols and Colson Echols and her sister-in-law, Mary Lois Purvis of Tampa.
