Eloise (Terry) Hester

Mrs. Eloise Terry Hester, 88, of Tifton passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018 at Legacy Village of Tifton.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Larry Layfield officiating.  Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. The family request no formal visitation.

Mrs. Hester was born October 4, 1930 in Tift County to the late Elbert Terry and Bessie Cromer Terry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles M. Hester to whom she was married for fifty-five years; her granddaughter Sabrina Walker who died in 1996; one brother and two sisters. Mrs. Hester was member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and retired from Tift County Board of Education as substitute teacher and office assistant. She graduated from Tifton High School. She enjoyed working at Agrirama, cooking, sewing and gardening in her yard.

Mrs. Hester is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Holly Hester of Waverly Hall and Terry W. Hester of Panama City, Florida; one daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Mark Walker of Tifton; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law Ann and Oscar Batchelor of North Augusta, South Carolina.
