Evelyn Sturgis Clement, 87, of Tifton passed away Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Bradley Place Assisted Living Facility.
Graveside service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, August 26, 2017 in Tift Memorial Gardens with Rev. Fred Evers officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:30 pm before the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Clement was born in Berrien County on August 21, 1930 to the late Jimmie and Molly Sirmans Whitley. She was married to the late James Robert Sturgis who died October 5, 2006.
Mrs. Clement worked for Winn Dixie as a cashier and secretary for many years. She attended Northside Baptist Church. Mrs. Clement loved her church and she also loved to cook, work in her yards and sew.
Mrs. Clement is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Vivian and Bruce Jordon of Lakeland, Florida; two grandsons, Brian Jordan and Scott Jordan, one great granddaughter Shelbie Jordan and one great great grandson, Kyle Lee Shaffer. Mrs. Clement was preceded in death by her first husband, James Sturgis.
