Evelyn Pauline (Moorhead) Helms

Tifton, Mrs. Evelyn Pauline Moorhead Helms, 81 of Tifton died Sunday, March 27, 2022, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Rev. Ike Branch officiating.  Interment will follow at Tift Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends and family on Monday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Steven Helms, Dustin O’Quinn, Miles O’Quinn, and Daniel Harlan will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Evelyn was born on June 28, 1940 in Tulare California to the late William C. Moorhead, Sr. and Martha York Moorhead as one of fourteen children.  Along with her parents, she was preceded by her daughter, Tammy O’Quinn and twelve siblings.

Mrs. Helms was a retired secretary from Reliable Tractor Company.  Her family remembers her a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  She was member of Church of the Nazarene in Tifton.  She was known by her church friends and family as the one who could make the best banana pudding ever.

She is survived by her husband, Bobby J. Helms to whom she was married for sixty years, her son Steven D. Helms of Thomasville, her grandchildren, Michelle Harlan, Angel Kubik, Dustin O’Quinn and Carly O’Quinn along with five great grandchildren and her brother James Moorhead of Fairfield, California.
