Frances Maye Allen

Frances May Allen, 78, of Tifton died Monday, February 06, 2017 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 09, 2017 at 11 am in Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Wiggins officiating. Interment will follow at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm, Wednesday, February 09 at Albritton Funeral Directors.

John Haman, Billy King, Stan Partin, Scott Partin, Tony Maye, Staten Maye will serve as pallbearers. Jerry Wiggins, Jimmy Peacock, Danny Haire, Aubrey Haire, Allen Haire, David Eaton, Steve Register, Bill King, Steve Partin, Billy Steed and Dee Tucker will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Mrs. Allen was born August 8, 1938 in Tift County to the late Thomas May and Grace Richards Maye.  Being born during the Great Depression and growing up during World War II, she spent her early days on a family farm where life was filled with constant work.  Her joy came from her faith and those surrounding her.  She was married to Johnny Hue Allen, a man who shared her values. She lived her 78 years with dedication and devotion to her family, her church, her friends, and her work. A member of Macedonia Baptist Church, she was retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation, was a former president of Tift County Blue Devils’ Brigade and a member of Tift Regional Medical Center Ladies Auxiliary. After retirement from Georgia Department of Transportation she worked with Reeves Construction Company. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Atlanta Braves baseball and traveling to the mountains.

Mrs. Allen is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Jill and Dewayne Haman of Tifton and Jan and Tracy Connell of Tifton; one son, Jay Allen of Boca Raton, FL; nine grandchildren, Jamie May, Adam Estes, Ashley Spears, Breanna Haman, Amelia Haman, John Haman, Faith Haman, Cole Connell and Hank Connell and six great grandchildren, Riley May, Julie May, Parker May, Dalton Courtoy, McKinsley Spears and Dylan Estes.

Flowers will be accepted.
