Francis Kay Spradlin, lovingly known as “Nana,” passed away at her residence surrounded by the love of her family July 3rd, 2026. Born on March 8, 1944, in Lakeland, Florida, she was the daughter of the late Bessie Pate Manning and Robert Lee Manning.

On April 23, 1960, she married the love of her life, H.L. Spradlin. Together they built a life centered on family, and unwavering devotion. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love and partnership spanning more than sixty-six years.

Kay’s greatest joy was her family. She devoted her life to caring for those she loved and never met a stranger. She had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome, valued, and cared for. Whether through a home-cooked meal, a word of encouragement, or simply being present when someone needed her most, she made a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her. She was spirited, strong-willed, and never afraid to speak her mind. With Kay, you never had to wonder where you stood, her honesty was as genuine as her love, and those who knew her cherished her for it.

To her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was the heart of the family. She created cherished memories that will be carried forward for generations. Her kindness, strength, and unconditional love helped shape the lives of those she loved most.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy Lynn Spradlin, and four brothers.

She is survived by her devoted husband of sixty-six years, H.L. Spradlin; her son, Bruce Spradlin; her granddaughters, Heather Purvis and husband Jed of Ocilla, Georgia, Katie Spradlin Hayes of Sycamore, Georgia, and May Spradlin of Tifton, Georgia; her great-grandchildren, Jay, Jackson, Judd, and Hadley Grace Tillman, and Rylee, Landon, and Greyson Hayes, Jesten and Maylin Purvis, and her sister Erma Barnett of Tifton, Georgia; and Chris Hayes, who remained a beloved member of the family and held a special place in Kay’s heart.

Though our hearts are broken by her passing, we find comfort in knowing that her love remains woven into the lives of all who knew her. Her legacy of selflessness, compassion, and devotion to family will continue through the generations she loved so deeply. She will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.
