Georgianne Jones

Georgianne Jones, born on April 3, 1953, in Tifton, Georgia, to the late Doris McGill Jones and Garrett Jones, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2026, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her life was marked by a quiet strength and a connection to the community where she was both born and spent her final days.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, June 29, 2026 in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Rev. Chip Grantham officiating. A private interment will be held later. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 A.M. at the funeral home before the service.

Georgianne is survived by her siblings, Sam (Yvonne) Jones of Perry, Georgia, Bob (Donna) Jones of Pine Mountain, Georgia and Lola (Mike) Beggs of Sautee, Georgia, along with many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.

Throughout her seventy-three years, Georgianne lived with a deep sense of dignity and grace. She was proud of her roots in Tifton and maintained a strong bond with the people and the place that shaped her. Those who knew her remember her kindness, her gentle demeanor, and her unfailing support for those around her. She was a member of Tifton First Methodist Church. 

She was a 1971 graduate of Tift County High School, then attended ABAC and Georgia Southwestern College. For thirty-five years she was an afterschool Director at Kate Sullivan, Tallahassee, Florida.

She loved Georgia Bulldogs, knew how many Saturdays till they play again, loved getting in her gear and hearing “Go Dawgs” everywhere she went. Her joy was always a dog. “Baby Girl” was her present Shihtzu, her constant companion and loyal friend.

She loved working in the yard and always had beautiful flowers out on the farm.

Georgianne’s life was one of integrity and steadfastness. Always guided by her values, she was a source of comfort and care to all who encountered her. Her life was her family; she kept up with everybody and had so much joy and laughter. Her presence brought warmth and assurance, whether in moments of joy or times of struggle. Even in her final days, Georgianne continued to face each moment with courage and poise.

Her legacy endures in the memories she created and the lives she touched within her community. The impact that Georgianne had on the people fortunate enough to know her will remain as a testament to her character.
