Tifton, Georgia

Hugh “Ronnie” Dunn, 74, a beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at his residence in Tifton, Georgia, just weeks shy of his 75th birthday. Born on September 29, 1949, in Cook County, Georgia, Ronnie was a pillar of his Tifton community and an embodiment of dedication and love for his family.

Ronnie's early life set the stage for his diverse career pursuits. After graduating from high school, he attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC) and later earned a Bachelor's degree in business from Georgia Southwestern College, equipping him with the skills that would serve him throughout his professional journey. He ventured into several fields, including working as a DJ for several radio stations, engaging in phone sales for Alltel that included his own business Dunncom and flourishing as a realtor with Century 21. His passion for music never faded; he enjoyed playing the drums for several different bands and providing DJ services for private parties, along with managing the Tifton Y100 radio station.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Ronnie's proudest accomplishments were rooted in his commitment to community service. He was previously an active member of several organizations, including the Sertoma Club, Masons, Shriners, Elks Club, Chamber of Commerce, and the Board of Realtors. His contributions to these initiatives reflected his generous spirit and desire to make a meaningful impact on those around him. Ronnie was a veteran of the Army National Guard Reserves and was a member of Westside Baptist Church of Adel.

Ronnie was known for his vibrant personality, characterized by a profound love for his family and community. He cherished his time with loved ones, showing a special fondness for his fur babies, Sophie and Sadie, who brought joy to his life.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Patricia Ann Manning Dunn; his daughter, Rhonda Dunn of Shreveport, Louisiana; his son, Jason Hutchinson of Tifton; his beloved grandchildren, Haley Hutchinson and Aubrey Eblin; and his brothers and sisters-in-law, Roger and Marsha Dunn and Randy and Alison Dunn, all of Adel. Additionally, Ronnie leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who looked up to him with admiration and respect.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his father, Hugh D. Dunn; his mother, Ruby Inez Luke Dunn; and his son, Luke Dunn. His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
