Inez (Surber) Walker

May 31, 1929 — April 27, 2017

Inez Surber Walker, 87, of Enigma died Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Tift Regional Medical Center.

Graveside services will be held on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at 2:00pm in Turner Church Cemetery with Rev. Larry Cone officiating. The family will have a private visitation.

Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Walker was born on May 31, 1929 in Tallahassee, FL to the late Howell Clayton Surber and Ethel Marie Leonardy Surber.

She attended church regularly while growing up and was of the Baptist faith throughout her life. She worked as both an employee of Irwin Manufacturing and a homemaker, raising five daughters. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, crocheting and was an avid animal lover. Mrs. Walker enjoyed traveling to the Smokey Mountains and spending time with her family.  She will be remembered for her hospitality, warmth, and keen sense of humor. “To know her was to love her”.

Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Charles Alex Walker and her five children, Jenny Barnes of Enigma, Jeannette and Larry Cone of Enigma, Connie and Clyde Zinck of St. Petersburg, FL, Debbie and Tom Strow of Benton KY, Terry and Carl Boone of Weeki Wachee, FL.  She also leaves behind nine grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren, as well as her beloved miniature Chihuahua, Peanut.

Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Daina Zinck and her brother, Clayton Surber.
