James "Jimmy" Edward Roberts

James "Jimmy" Edward Roberts, a dedicated and passionate cosmetologist, passed away peacefully at his residence in Chula, Georgia, on April 22, 2026. Born on March 12, 1949, in Valdosta, Georgia, Jimmy's life was marked by dedication to his craft, his family, and the community around him.

A graduate of Lowndes County High School and the Macon University of Cosmetology, Jimmy embraced his career with enthusiasm and pride. Self-employed in the field of cosmetology, he deeply loved his occupation as a hairdresser, finding true fulfillment in sharing his knowledge with others. His commitment to his work and his clients was one of his proudest accomplishments.

Jimmy was a man who cherished the simple joys of life. He found great happiness in spending time outdoors, tending to his yard—a pastime that brought him peace and satisfaction. Equally beloved was his devoted companionship with his dog Roxie, whom he adored and considered a treasured member of his family.

Family meant everything to Jimmy. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Holly and Donnie McDuffie; his brothers, Eugene Roberts and his wife Marlene, Joe Roberts and his wife Susan, and Scott Roberts; his sister, Sue Roberts Roper, and her husband, Wayne. They, along with Roxie, his loyal fur baby, carry forward his legacy of love and warmth. Jimmy was remembered by his son-in-law as an “awesome father-in-law,” a testament to his gentleness and kindness in family life.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kathy Laraine Clarke Roberts, who passed away on December 29, 2009; his father, Dewey Eston Roberts; and his mother, Effie Mae Cone Roberts.

A visitation to honor and celebrate Jimmy’s life will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Albritton Funeral Directors, located at 1020 Tift Ave N., Tifton, Georgia.
