Janelle Costley Housworth

Janelle Costley Housworth, 82, of Tifton passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Legacy Village Assisted Living.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 31 at 3:00 p.m. in chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Rev. Gary Cadwell officiating. Interment will follow in Oakridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Deacons of Brookfield Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Housworth was born December 14, 1935 in Grantville, Georgia to the late Bill Costley and Ora Mae Stowers Costley. She is survived by her husband, Warren Housworth to whom she was married for sixty years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, William and Janice McMillen and brother -in-law, Garland Shoemake. Mrs. Housworth was a member of Brookfield Baptist Church and had lived in Tift County for fifty years. She attended Tift College, graduated ABAC and later Valdosta State University.  She was a wife, mother and a retired school teacher. She was very active in her church and was a dedicated Christian whose life mission was to reach out to others.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Housworth is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lynn and Steve Williard of Houston, Texas; one son, Eddie Housworth of Tifton; two grandchildren, Piers Farebrother and Abby Williard; one sister-in-law, Charlotte Shoemake of Newnan and several nieces, nephews and many cousins.
