Janice Elaine Luke Pitts, formerly of Tifton, was born on May 23, 1951, in Fitzgerald, Georgia. She left this world peacefully on May 13, 2025, at Lakehaven Nursing Home in Valdosta, Georgia, just days before her 74th birthday.

A graveside service to honor Janice's life will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Tift Memorial Gardens with Rev. James Hall officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate the memory of a remarkable woman whose kindness and spirit will forever be remembered.

Janice was a dedicated caregiver throughout her career, working as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) sitter for the elderly. Her compassion and commitment to those she cared for truly reflected her nurturing spirit.

A 1970 graduate of Ben Hill County High School, Janice carried the values of hard work and determination throughout her life. She found joy in simple pleasures and cherished her time spent with family. Janice loved to cook and was particularly skilled in canning and freezing vegetables, often sharing her delicious creations with loved ones.

In her leisure time, Janice had a passion for exploring flea markets, where she enjoyed flipping antiques and discovering hidden treasures. Traveling brought her great happiness, whether it was a spontaneous day trip or an extended journey with her life partner, Devon Soles. Janice also held a special affection for her cats, considering them a vital part of her life.

Janice leaves behind her daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Randy Cone of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina; her life partner, Devon Soles; three cherished grandchildren, Chris Bryant, Randi Cone, and Nick Cone; her sister, Linda Yarbrough and her nieces and nephews, Lisa Jones, Lee Yarborough, Michelle Harris, Kim McSwain and Clif Harrison.

She was predeceased by her husband, Keith Pitts; her father, William "Bill" Henry Luke; her mother, Mary Norris Luke; her sister, Sue Luke Williams; and her brother, Billy Luke.
