Jayne Smith Woods, born on November 13, 1937, in Grays, South Carolina, peacefully departed this life on May 27, 2025, at her residence in Omega, Georgia. A cherished member of her community, Jayne is remembered for her unwavering dedication to her family and the warmth she brought to those around her.

Jayne spent most of her working career as a bank teller and bookkeeper. She was a proud 1955 graduate of Grays High School, as the class Salutatorian and played on the ladies' basketball team. She carried the values of hard work and integrity throughout her life.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Jayne had a variety of passions that truly defined her vibrant spirit. She found immense joy in nurturing her flowers, a reflection of her love for nature and the beauty it offers. Her culinary talents shone through in her cooking and baking, where she often delighted local first responders with her homemade pound cakes. An accomplished seamstress, Jayne also expressed her creativity through sewing, always making items that would be cherished by those lucky enough to receive them. Additionally, she took pleasure in exploring yard sales with her grandson, Austin Woods. They would uncover hidden treasurers and bring them home.

Jayne’s legacy continues through her three children including Dana Woods of Talmo, GA, Jeanne Adams (Julie) of Amite City, LA, and Joey Woods (Renae) of Tifton, GA, her grandchildren Jonah Jenkins (Lani), Bari Adams, Victoria Higgins, Anthony Woods (Logan), Austin Woods and 7 great grandchildren, all of whom she adored and supported throughout their lives.

Jayne is predeceased by her father, Walker Simpson Smith, Sr., her mother, Idelle Clifton Smith and her 4 siblings, Rubye Goover, Walker Smith Jr., Winston Smith and Mirana Kring.

Jayne Smith Woods lived her life with grace and a genuine desire to help those around her, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her. She was a member of Crosland Baptist Church and loved spending time with her church family.

A memorial service will be held at Crosland Baptist Church, J.P. Perry Rd, Norman Park, GA 31771 on June 7th, with visitation at 1:30 pm and the memorial service at 2:30 pm.
