Jean Worley Nicholson

Mrs. Norma Jean Worley Boggs Nicholson, 95, of Tifton passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at Cypress Pond Assisted Living Center.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Omega City Cemetery with Rev. Steve Davis officiating.

She was born on June 16, 1928, in Omega, Georgia, to the late Eli Worley and Evie Sue Swanson Worley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her three brothers, R. L. Worley, Troy Worley and Joe Hasty and one sister, Wilma Ruth Worley.

Growing up in Omega, Jean attended local schools and graduated from high school. She furthered her education by completing secretary school. With her exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, Jean began her career with Southern Chemicals Sales & Service of Quincy, then as a bookkeeper for Kelley Manufacturing Company and later worked with Visiting Nurses Association of Tifton.

Outside of work, Jean cherished spending time with her family and friends. She had a beautiful spirit that radiated kindness and warmth. Jean was a devoted wife to her beloved husband of many years, William Jennings Nicholson Jr., who preceded her in death. Together they created countless treasured memories.

Jean's love extended to her sons and daughters-in-law, Pete and Barbara Boggs of Tifton, and John Anthony "Tony" and Mindy Boggs of Tallahassee. She adored her grandsons Russell Boggs and Colin Boggs and took great joy in watching them grow into fine young men.

In addition to her immediate family, Jean found comfort in the presence of her sister Travelle Morgan of Tifton. The bond she shared with Travelle was one of unwavering support and love.
