Jeanette (Sumner) Carson

Mrs. Jeanette Sumner Carson, 80, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2019, at her residence.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 15, 2019, in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Rev. Bill Allen officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:45 PM on Saturday before the service at the funeral home. A private interment will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Carson was born October 10, 1938 in Tift County to the late William Lee “Billy” Sumner and Mattie Virginia Willis Sumner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carvel Hynson Carson, III who died in 2010; three brothers, Howard Sumner, Lynwood Sumner and A. W. Sumner; her first husband, Charles Henry. Mrs. Carson was a homemaker and a member of Northside Baptist Church of Tifton. She had lived in Tifton and Eldorado most of her life. Mrs. Carson had a beautiful voice and enjoyed singing. She loved her family and her Lord. Her cats were special to her.

Mrs. Carson is survived by two sisters and brother-in-law, Betty Allen of Palm Coast, Florida, Susan and Danny Spratling of Nicholson, Georgia; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Gene and Faye Sumner of Lake City, Florida, Wendell and Annette Sumner of Tifton and Cecil Pleaman and Carmen Sumner of Oxford, Georgia; many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the building fund of Northside Baptist Church, 4605 Murray Ave., Tifton, Ga. 31794, or your favorite charity.
