Jeanette Walker Dickens

May 23, 1942 — July 23, 2025

Tifton, Georgia

Jeanette Walker Dickens, 83, born on May 23, 1942, in Randolph County, Georgia, peacefully passed away on July 23, 2025, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia.

She lived a fulfilling life, marked by her dedication to family and a career that spanned three decades with the Georgia Department of Labor, where she served as manager of the Valdosta office for many years.

A proud graduate of Albany High School, Jeanette also attended ABAC, and she was an avid reader. Throughout her life, she displayed a wealth of artistic talent, indulging her passions for flower gardening, sewing, ceramics, painting, and drawing. Jeanette’s creativity was reflected in her interests, particularly in interior designing.

Family was the centerpiece of Jeanette’s life. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Bill Reinhardt and Michelle and Russ Shaw of Tifton. A doting grandmother, she cherished her role in the lives of her grandchildren: Ashley Shaw, Will and Allison Reinhardt, Charlie Reinhardt, Georgia Reinhardt, and Spencer Shaw. Her heart was further expanded with the arrival of her great granddaughters, Millie Reinhardt and Mary Margaret Reinhardt, who brought her immense joy, along with her dog Barney.

Jeanette's warmth and affection extended to her siblings as well. She is survived by her brother, Larry Walker, and her three sisters, Martha Norton, Joan Pearson, and Diane Walker. She was preceded in death by her father, William Dewey Walker; her mother, Lutie Stephens Walker; her five brothers, Billy Walker, Foy Walker, Roy Walker, Harold Walker, and Robert Walker; and her sister, Joyce Sieg.

Jeanette was also a member of the First Methodist Church of Tifton. Her legacy will live on through the lives she touched and the indelible mark she left on her family and friends. As we mourn her loss, we celebrate a life that was rich in love, creativity, and devotion to those she cherished most.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

Albritton Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
