Jeffrey Stephens Murphy, Sr

Jeffrey Stephens Murphy, Sr., 49, of Tifton passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 26th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Rev. Terrell Roberts and Rev. Cory Thompson officiating. Interment to follow in Landmark Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening, May 25th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be William Hornback, LaDon Chambliss, Russ Murphy, Mike Newbern, Will Murphy and Chad Murphy. Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of Landmark Baptist Church.

Mr. Murphy was born March 31, 1969 in Colquitt County to Gary S. Murphy and Kathy Wingate Murphy of Tifton. He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Stephens Murphy, Jr.  Mr. Murphy was a member of Landmark Baptist Church of Chula and a Veteran of United States Navy. He was formerly a salesman with Advanced Auto Parts and 1987 graduate of Tift County High School. He had lived in Tift County most of his life. He loved electronics, building computers, woodworking, fishing, hunting and spending time with his children. He was proud of his military service.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by one daughter, Amanda Ellen Murphy of Douglas; one son, Patrick Stephens Murphy of Douglas; one sister, Angela Stephanie Hornback of Dayton, Ohio.
