Tifton – John Anthony Towery, 64 of Tifton, died Thursday, February 18th, 2016 at his residence.
Visitation will be held at Albritton Funeral Directors on Sunday 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. The funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 22, 2016 at the funeral home with Rev. Dan Eidson officiating. Burial will follow in Oakridge Cemetery.
Mr. Towery was born June 11, 1951 to the late Claud E. Towery and Doris Marie Young Towery in Owensboro, Kentucky. Along with his parents he was also preceded in death by his brother Charles Towery. Mr. Towery served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He had lived in Tifton since 2009. He loved living the country life enjoying shooting guns, fishing and being around animals. He was a self employed commercial plumber.
Mr. Towery is survived by his wife Dixie Tyson Towery of Tifton, son John Elliot & Shannon Towery, Milton, FL., Daughters and sons-in-law Christy and Tony Spires, Tifton, , Tonya and Robert Nunn , Pensacola, Fl., three grand children Shane and Jordan Towery, , Abigail Elizabeth Walker, one great grandchild, Raelynn Towery, t hree sisters, Patricia and Lynn Abney, Chandler, IN, Brenda and Kenneth Thomasson, Calhoun, Ky. And Linda Towery, Calhoun, Ky. four brothers, Kenneth E. Towery, Rumsey, KY, Fred Towery, Pensacola, FL, James and Sharon Towery, Island, KY, and Thomas and Micah Towery, Utica, KY.
