Miss Karen Lynn Ball, 69, of Tifton passed away Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Augusta University Medical Center.
A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, February 19, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. in Our Divine Saviour Catholic Church with Father Peter Oyenugba officiating. Interment will follow in Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday, February 19, 2021 from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. at Albritton Funeral Directors.
Joshua Moore, Paul D. Mials, Eric Ball, Lovett Young, Brian Greene, Daniel Ball, Buckley Wildes and Alex Wininger will serve as pallbearers.
Miss Ball was born March 31, 1951 in Moultrie, Georgia to the late Willie Paul Ball and Eliane Cret Ball. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers Lloyd Paul Ball and Allen Darrell Ball. She was a member of Our Divine Saviour Catholic Church and was retired from Cook County Board of Education. Miss Ball had lived in Tift county for over fifty years. She was proud of her career as an educator and began this career in 1973. Karen held four college degrees and numerous certifications. She began her career as a substitute teacher in Tift County, then later worked in three counties; Burke, Cook and Berrien. Karen held the positions of classroom teacher at Burke, principal in Berrien Alternative school and assistant principal in Cook. She was a devout Catholic and very active in her church. She enjoyed arts and crafts especially knitting, traveling and playing phone games. She was an avid reader. Karen enjoyed being in the company of her family.
Miss Ball is survived by her sister, Shirley Ball of Tifton, her brother and sister-in-law, Danny and Rena Ball of Leesburg; her nieces and nephews, Paulette Moore, Paul Mials, Joseph Alan Ball, Brian Greene, Nikki Wildes, Lisa Greene-Young, Eric Ball and Jackson Ball. She had many great nieces and nephews including three that were in her household, Alexandria Mials, Brandon Yeomans and Emily Mials.
