Mr. Kenneth “Ken” Lewis Cheek, 59, of Tifton passed away on Friday, March 4, 2022 at Tift Regional Medical Center with his sons by his side.
His funeral service will be held Monday, March 7, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Tommy Spikes officiating. The interment will follow in Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 6, 2022 from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. at Albritton Funeral Directors.
Darin Purvis, Joe Ball, David Nicholson, Michael Danforth, Mark Spampinato, and Sandy Griffin will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Hicks, Buddy Cawley, Frank Jones and Randy Hancock.
Mr. Cheek was born October 15, 1962 in Tift County to the late James Lewis Cheek and Carol Robertson Cheek. He was a 1980 graduate from Tift County High School where he was known as King of the Hill for bench pressing along with playing football. After high school he attended ABAC. Ken was retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation as a utilities engineer. He greatly enjoyed the Tifton community where he was a lifelong resident. His favorite pastimes were cooking for friends and family, fishing, hunting and driving his dog Diesel around in his Ranger. Ken was a friend to everyone he met.
Mr. Cheek is survived by his two sons and daughter-in-law, Austin Blake and Alyssa Cheek of Canton, Georgia and Tyler Andrew Cheek of Charlotte, North Carolina; his grandchildren, Natalie Cheek, Malloree Cheek, Lyla Cheek, Jazmyne Cheek and Kyra Cheek; his sister, Kemberly Cheek Carter of Augusta, Georgia. He is also survived by his Aunt Latrelle Cheek, Aunt Martha Robertson Massey and her husband, Hubert Massey; his cousins, Kelly Massey Gordon, Joshua Massey and Emily Cheek.
