Leonard "Sam" Luther Booth

Mr. Leonard “Sam” Luther Booth, 86, of Tifton, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at his residence.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, November 4th in Staunton Cemetery, Lenox, Ga., with Rev. Ike Branch officiating. The family request no formal visitation to be held.

Mr. Booth was born April 18, 1931 in Franklin County, Ga to the late Thomas Monroe Booth and Izora King Booth. He was married to Leila Mildred Young Booth for 66 years and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He was a retired service station owner and was a newspaper carrier for the Tifton Gazette for seventeen years. As an outdoorsman he loved golfing, fishing, and hunting. Music was one of his favorite pastimes and he played many other instruments, including the fiddle. Mr. Booth was a member of Tifton First Church of the Nazarene.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Booth is survived by one son, Keith Booth of Tifton; one daughter and son-in-law, Lisha and Richard Woods of Atlanta; three grandchildren, Jane't Ensley, Katie Booth and Sam Booth; two great grandchildren, Cameron Ensley and Kaiya Ensley; one sister, Hazel Sumner of Nashville; many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

Mr. Booth was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
