Linda Cheryl (Reynolds) Rutland

Mrs. Linda Cheryl Reynolds Rutland, 76, of Fitzgerald passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2021 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital of Albany.

Graveside services will be held Monday, November 29, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald with Rev. Joe Crews officiating.  the family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Michael Evans, Jake Bland, Robbie Rutland , Austin Rutland, Clint Smith and Tony Tucker will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Rutland was born January 1, 1945 in Ben Hill County to the late James “J.C.” Claxton Reynolds and Helen Jean Burton Reynolds. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Stanley Rutland, her son, Darien Pridgen, her grandson Ty Owens, her brother Larry Reynolds and her grandmother, Ina Lofton. Mrs. Rutland was a member of the Lighthouse Harbor Worship Center in Tifton. She also attended Irwinville Primitive Baptist of Fitzgerald. She was a retired bookkeeper and was loved by many. Mrs. Rutland never failed to fight for what she wanted or what she believed in. Everyone that knew Mrs. Rutland knew her as a strong and loving woman who was always willing to do what she could to help others. She lived a full and happy life with her big family.

Mrs. Rutland is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Missy Pridgen of Panama City, Florida; daughter-in-law, Karen Pridgen of Camilla, two twin daughters and sons-in-law, Janie and Courtney Evans of Eldorado and Jeanie and Chris McLamb of Sumner; multiple step children, Shawn Robins, Robbie and Melinda Rutland and Lynn Marchant, Grandchildren, Michael Evans, Savannah Owens, Autumn Sumner, Austin Rutland, Matt Mason and  Amanda Mason; eight great grandchildren; four sisters, Ann, Nancy, Debbie and Peggy and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a very special Thank You to her son and daughter-in-law, Darien and Karen Pridgen, her sister Debbie and Eddie Justice. They extended their homes and their time to care for Mrs. Rutland the past few years while battling many health issues. She will be missed dearly by many.
